Shrink to fit

I like this editorial not only because it features three of my favourite models (Freja, Abbey Lee and of course Lara=goddess) but also because it stood out from other editorials. The playful/facetious styling (i.e. making sophisticated garments by Chanel, Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs look raggedy) caught my eye. That combined with the "shrunken" cropped sweaters and hairsprayed messes of hair make it look like the whole editorial went into the dryer, came out and somehow...still managed to look great because it's different and not predictably "pretty." So kudos to fashion editor Karl Templer and photographer Steven Meisel for this Vogue Italia editorial.

I ♥ Freja

We're all well aware of my love for Freja Beha Erichsen. I fell in love with her when I first saw this picture of her, looking like a tomboy rockabilly greaser with her hair slicked back and wearing a simple ripped wife beater. This is Freja in Vogue UK by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Lucinda Chambers. I'm posting it mostly because I have a major girl crush on Freja, and the styling is alright. The chain detail Balenciaga boots that keep popping up in editorials (in fact, Freja wore them already here) are wearing me down. Meaning, they're kind of growing on me. Meaning, maybe I always liked them, despite their being slightly too ostentatious for my taste. Meaning, I want them. Back to the editorial, though. I didn't post all the pictures, mostly because it's not Freja at her best. Mostly, she looks kind of confused. So I'm adding another picture of Freja in all her natural dimpled tousled hair glory just to prove to you how beautiful she is (as if you needed proof).

Where the Wild Things Are

Freja Beha Erichsen by Terry Richardson? Yes, Please. This editorial for Vogue Nippon was inspired by 70s excess. If you don't know who Terry Richardson is (where have you been), just think: handlebar mustache, tattoos, full-frontals and an "uncanny ability to cut to the raw essence of whomever appears before his lens." (source) Also, if you want to check out his blog, I don't know, just to see him pose with a 9 foot "manwich" or shave Jared Leto's hair into a mohawk go here.

Laisse tomber les filles

The colours in this editorial are stunning.
And I want to go back to the Moroccan sand and sun and away from Amsterdam rain.
